Katie grew up in Woodland, Washington. She moved to Ellensburg to attend Central Washington University from 2011-2015, where she got a degree in Psychology. She worked as an Educational assistant for 2 years, then attended Washington State University Vancouver to get a Master’s in Teaching. She moved to Stevenson, WA to teach second grade for a year in 2018, then moved back to Vancouver, where she lives now with her partner, his son, and their dog Dixie. She loves to teach reading and writing, and has taught first, second, and third grades while subbing over the last five years.
Outside of school, she really enjoys cooking, baking, and painting. She also loves to make Italian food and crock pot meals. She bakes all kinds of cookies around the holidays. Elephants are her favorite animal, and she has a huge collection of all kinds of elephant trinkets!
