Christopher Tschirley was born in Washington D.C. but had the privilege of growing up in Rome, Italy, in an international environment with people from lots of different backgrounds which honed an excellent ability to communicate and interact positively with people with all kinds of life experiences. He is fluent in Italian and speaks passable French and Spanish. He moved back to the US after high school to go to college and holds a double BA from the University of Rhode Island in History and Political Science.
Following a move to Portland in 2005, on a whim after college, he eventually found work as an assistant teacher at Childswork Learning Center where he was tasked with developing an introductory Italian enrichment class for their after school program which was a real eye opener into the world of early childhood education and the work and planning and joy of discovery that comes with it. This experience ignited a passion which drove him to pursue a career in working with children which persists to this day.
Out of the classroom, you can find Christopher tending to his raised beds growing fruits and vegetables, as well as adventuring, hiking, and kayaking with his wife and two boys as they explore the grandeur of the PNW.
