Foundations Grant Writer

Our highest values are Community, Confidence, Creativity, and Conversation. We are looking for our next team member; an in-house grant writer for 30-40 hours per week (hybrid or remote to start). The position reports to the Executive Director and is part of 2.5 person development team.
Job Description:
– Research, develop and write grant proposals to foundations
– Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets, and presentations
– Meet or exceed our $325,000 foundation budget, part of $800,000 total funds raised per year
– Establish and maintain strong relationships with foundation contacts, program officers, and members of the funding community
– Prioritize projects to keep multiple requests moving in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines
– Write and submit all reports to funders as required to ensure compliance
– Perform prospect research on foundations to evaluate prospect
– Meet with teaching and program staff to determine specific needs each school year
– Write annual appeal letter
– Participate in development and marketing team meetings as needed
– Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications:
– Minimum 2 years of successful experience in grant writing for a nonprofit organization
– Track record of clear and compelling grant proposals
– Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills
– Ability to perform quality work within deadlines without direct supervision
– Ability to work with program budgets for grant proposals and reports
– Ability to interact professionally with other employees, clients, donors, and outside agencies
– Ability to work effectively with a team
– Sense of humor
Salary: Approx. $46,000 if FTE. TBD hourly or salary for approximately .75 FTE or fulltime work, plus excellent benefits. Learn more about us at www.tuckermaxon.org
