Anya PapageorgesEducational Assistant

Anya was born in Clackamas and has lived around Portland for most of her life. Upon graduating from Sam Barlow High School, Anya worked at Gresham Heights Learning Center as an Assistant Teacher. At the end of the academic year, Anya decided to move to Jonesboro, Arkansas.

After moving Anya started working at Arkids Pediatric Day Center. She spent most of her time with infants and toddlers with developmental delays. She attended Arkansas State University for a year before deciding to move home in 2020.

Anya transferred to Portland State University and attended college online while nannying. She double majored in Social Science and Liberal Studies with a minor in Child, Youth, and Family Studies. She finished her degree in the summer of 2023 after completing a capstone course working at Camp Kiwanis.

Following the capstone, Anya started working at an intergenerational preschool called Rosebud at Rose Villa. She started working as an Educational Assistant and was quickly promoted to Lead Toddler Teacher. She facilitated learning, play, and community building between toddlers and seniors.

Anya was raised to speak only French with family and learned to speak English in preschool. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, drawing, and pyrography. She is deeply grateful for the chance to bring her passion for inclusive education to Tucker Maxon.
