Cheryl Fischer has lived in Portland for 25 years. She got her undergraduate degree at OSU in
education and her graduate degree at PSU. She has taught English as a second language at
local Community Colleges and she has taught in K-5th classrooms for Portland Public Schools.
During the last three years, Cheryl homeschooled her son – one of the most difficult and
gratifying teaching experiences of her educational career. Now that he is back in school, Cheryl
is looking forward to working with the Tucker Maxon community and teaching science.

In her free time, Cheryl enjoys time with her two sons. William, now 13, went to Preschool at
Tucker Maxon and Ben, 23, will graduate in Physics from PSU this year. She also loves to cook
and craft and take long walks with her boxer-lab mix, Ty.
