Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversity Policy

Tucker Maxon is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion. Our human capital is the most valuable asset we have. The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, inventiveness, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent that our Board and employees invest in their work represents a significant part of not only our culture, but our reputation and school’s achievement as well.

We embrace and encourage our Board, employees, and students’ differences in age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our community unique. We welcome everyone.

Equity

We have a responsibility to better understand and serve the children in our program and to examine our organization, systems, and policies for bias and inequities.

Tucker Maxon School actively promotes and recognizes principles of fairness, equity, and social justice in relation to, and across, intersections of race, age, color, disability, faith, religion, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, social class, economic class, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, and all other identities represented among our diverse membership.

Equality vs EquityWe prioritize equity in every facet of our organization:

  • The children and families we serve
  • The staff we hire, train, and support
  • The board of directors we are governed by
  • The volunteers we recruit, train, and retain
  • The communities in which we serve and operate
